There is very little research on the link between siblings and study habits.
Sibling Relationship Predictors of Academic Achievement [http://escholarship.org/uc/item/8db6b27b#page-29] suggests that academic achievement increases if an older sibling is a good role model. (Read the conclusion on p 24 first)
However, research suggests that older siblings can have a significant impact on younger siblings' reading habits, which would impact on study habits and academic success
