- Re rooster and cat idea, think about surrealism (especially female surrealists like Leonor Fini, Leonora carrington and Remedios Varo)and also some older still life stuff like C17th vanitas paintings - what could you use around the figures to make your point about commodification? Also think about how to be suggestive in other ways: Aertsen's C16th paintings of peasant girls were considered pornographic because they showed women selling fruit and skewering chickens.
